TAMPA, Fla. — A man was caught on video vandalizing a decades-old staple in the Tampa area.
Surveillance video provided by Dairy Joy owner Karrie Lynn Mueller shows a hooded man throwing a dumbbell and breaking the ice cream shop's window early Wednesday morning.
Around 6:20 a.m., the man can be seen walking up to the outdoor area of the shop with a dumbbell in his hand before tossing it at the window and walking away.
At this time, little is known regarding what led up to the incident, but 10 Tampa Bay confirmed that the Tampa Police Department is investigating this incident.
Opened in 1958, Dairy Joy is located on South Manhattan Avenue in Tampa. According to its website, the ice cream shop has been "delighting taste buds in South Tampa for over six decades." The family-owned ice cream parlor recently opened a new location in Seminole.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
